This is a concise summary of the incredible marketing opportunity that is Facebook (at least right now!).

As a small business advisor, I have incorporated social media marketing into my practice, because it is an unprecedented tool for reaching new customers.

We have found that a customer-specific strategy and integrated marketing campaign using social media, create significant visibility that has led to new sales for our clients.

As with anything, this advantage may be temporary, so our clients are early adopters who are “fighters and winners.” This economic recovery will be an opportunity for some, including our clients, thanks to social media.

I’d love to hear others’ comments! – Patti

These stats confirm my anecdotal experience that my age group (55+) is rapidly adopting Facebook and other social media.

This data is helpful if you are seeking to encourage hesitant adopters. For example, if you lead a team of direct sellers, these numbers will help you encourage them to make Facebook one of the tools they use to serve their customers and hosts. Alternately, you could provide the Facebook group and encourage the team member to invite their customers and hosts to access the group you set up.

If you lead a team of leaders, you can set the example of using Facebook as one of the tools you use to integrate local and distant team members (others being Twitter private groups and online virtual meetings with tools like DimDim).

For direct sellers, Facebook usage is in its infancy. Thanks for sharing this data which is very compelling for the proposition that direct sellers can expect more and more of their customers and hosts to be on Facebook.
